Na história, April (Italia Ricci, de Unnatural History) é uma jornalista que tenta constantemente impressionar seu editor (Vondie Curtis-Hall, de Chicago Hope) em um jornal de Boston. Apesar dos problemas que enfrenta diariamente no trabalho, ela está vivendo o melhor momento de sua vida. Apaixonada por Dominic (Richard Brancatisano), seu colega de trabalho, April faz planos para o futuro. Mas tudo muda quando ela é diagnosticada com câncer.
